View by County
The reports in this section are organized by the counties of Hawaii: Hawaii, Honolulu, Kauai, and Maui. This is important because the varied size, density, infrastructure, and racial/ethnic make-up of the counties result in differences in health measures and behaviors. In these reports, results for the state are also given, so comparisons can be made across counties and to the state as a whole.
In this first series of reports, the Leading Health Indicators set for the Healthy People 2010 are examined. Multiple data sources, identified on the first page of each report, are used to provide point prevalence estimates with 95% confidence intervals. Where possible, aggregate data are used to provide more accurate estimates. Measures are shown by county alone and by a second dimension, such as race/ethnicity, gender, age, etc..
For a summary of many demographic, educational, and economic factors across the counties, go to the Demographics page on our sister site, Hawaii Health Matters.
