Fetal Death Data
The Fetal Death Data is composed of information extracted from fetal death certificates. State laws require death certificates to be issued for spontaneous intrauterine death of a fetus at any time during pregnancy. Fetal death certificate data captures information on the mother and the fetus including information on maternal risk factors and congenital abnormalities of the fetus. The information is captured by the Hawai‘i State Department of Health, Office of Health Status Monitoring as part of the National Vital Statistics System in collaboration with the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS).
