Age-Friendly Honolulu Annual Report 2021-2022

The Age-Friendly Honolulu Annual Report 2021-2022 prepared by the University of Hawai’i Center on Aging details the City and County of Honolulu’s progress to becoming more age-friendly.

Here are some highlights from the report:

The City and County of Honolulu is a member of the World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities and the American Association of Retired Person’s (AARP’s) National Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. In 2015, the group released the visions, goals and recommendations for an age-friendly Honolulu.

The three main goals of age-friendly Honolulu are to:

  2. Create meaningful roles for kūpuna
  3. Address barriers that prevent the inclusion and accessibility for people of varying abilities
