The fact sheet includes indicators on cancer overall in Hawaiʻi, as well as data on specific cancers, including breast and lung cancer.
Here are some key highlights for Hawaiʻi from the fact sheet:
- 9.9% or 112,500 adults have been diagnosed with some form of cancer as of 2024.
- 78.9% of women in Hawaiʻi ages 40-74 years have had a mammogram in the past two years.
- Honolulu County has the highest rate of breast cancer screening (82.1%) while Hawaiʻi County has the lowest rate of screening (69.5%).
- 17.7% of adults in Hawaiʻi ages 55-80 years who are current or former smokers have had a lung cancer screening in the last year.
